You stay locked in the dark corner of my mind. Forgotten. But then he has your name. He has your walk. I jump in my mind— skin prickling, heart racing, It wasn’t you. Why would it be you? But he had your shadow.

The word, It still holds power. I try it out on my lips, It makes me flinch. It plays unwanted scenes before my mind. I force the word out, offended by its existence.
